Martin Luther created Lutheranism in an attempt to break away from the Catholic church's corruption. Lutheranism is a Christian religion that is different from Catholicism, in that it mostly focuses on the bible and the three solas. The three solas are Sola scriptura (scripture alone), Sola fide (faith alone), and Sola gratia (by grace alone). This idea influences the architecture, and calls for a much more modest church than the Catholic churches, as can be seen below.
